SchoolBoardHQ
Operational tooling and a peer network for the volunteer trustees who run America’s K-12 districts.
Overview
School board trustees are elected, unpaid, and accountable for multi-million-dollar K-12 districts. They run meetings, set policy, approve budgets, and answer to their communities — and most of them do it with a stack of PDFs, email threads, and shared drives.
SchoolBoardHQ replaces that stack. It combines governance tooling — agenda briefs, meeting recaps, policy and budget management, strategic plans, evaluation cycles — with a peer network where trustees compare notes, find mentors and consultants, and learn from boards facing the same questions.
Underneath both sits a national directory of every public school board, grounded in NCES public data and kept current by an in-product crawler pipeline.
Role
Spade House Studio designed and built SchoolBoardHQ end to end — product, engineering, and continued operation.

Outcome
Live in production with founding boards onboarded. The platform now spans governance workflows, a peer network, a national directory grounded in public NCES data, and a crawler pipeline that keeps it current. Built as one cohesive product rather than four separate apps.
